Just wondering if this build would be ok for a NAS build? MoBo has already been purchased(Old one with broken PCI-E). The Monitor Stand, 1TB 2.5' HDD and Wacom Tablet are not part of the build.

I'd go with 2x2TB for raid., but that looks fine.

Yeah. You need some redundancy. 2x2TB in RAID1 would be a good solution.

If you can get enterprise-like drives with TLER (like WD reds, not sure what Seagate's equivalent is) you'd probably want that too.

The cheaper the better, would 2x1TB work better? and would it be RAID 1?

The plan for the build is to put Uni work there instead of a shared folder on Dropbox, maybe store vids.

2x1TB wouldn't work better per say. 2x2TB would be just as good, the only difference would be capacity. Yes you'd want RAID1 for redundancy.

Question what OS are you using for the nas? Also that PSU  is a bit suspect especially for 24/7

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_226&products_id=15135

it's a proven Seasonic platform.

I'm assuming FreeNAS, I haven't really looked into it.

Been looking at getting most of parts from Amazon instead of PCCG.

How would this PSU go? Once again cheaper the better.

Yeah that Corsair PSU is a better choice, personally I would still stretch the extra money and go for the Antec.

Check the OS requirements to make sure you have enough memory 2GB seems a bit skinny.

Regarding Amazon you should look into RMA cause if it does die in warranty you might have to ship it back to the USA which won't be a cheap exercise. Devices that have a tendancy to die such as GPU,s Motherboards, HDD's & PSU's which are also generally heavy items are better off being purchased locally, As with Australian Consumer law the shop is obligated to handle the shipping back.
