hello,

i'm building a new pc and i'm not sure which cpu to use. i will only be gaming and playing some movies/music on here. if i plan to stream etc i will change the build accordingly. all i need to know is which cpu to get.

pc specs:

gtx 970 or r9 290

msi z87i gaming AC

silverstone raven rvz01

crucial ballistix sport 8GB

seagate barracuda 7200.14

silverstone SFX ST45SF 450W

i've been looking at the i3-4360 or the i5-4440. can i go any cheaper than this for this build and which one would you recommend?

thanks in advance!!

Personally I'd go APU and stream games from your current PC via Steam. Cheaper than putting a 970 in a multimedia system.

i've been thinking about that too but i want to play games with my brother and you cant do that while already streaming a game.

True. I'm waiting for Steam to allow games to run in the background, and multiple games at a time. Bring on the 5960X/quad 980 (not even bothering with SLI, each running independently) gaming server running games simultaneously across the house...

...when that happens, THEN I'm building a streaming pc xD

i wont be building a streaming pc though. i would just get a cheap laptop with ethernet and hooked up to my tv or even a barebones brix thing.

Yeah, Also get an after market cpu cooler. from my experience the Intel cooler has performed abysmally

yeah i know but the problem is i cant find anything that is good and fits into the case. the RVZ01 has a seperate space for the gpu so the cpu shouldn't get that warm though.
