Hi, I am thinking of building a new PC rig, mainly for software development and secondly gaming.

My list: http://pcpartpicker.com/

Can anyone suggest a good keyboard and monitor. (Not too costly, already tight with budget  :P )

PS. Can anyone suggest another case? My friend is planing to do a similar build but doesn't  want this case.

Dont go 120/140 AIo for CPU you need a 240mm or bigger otherwise a air cooler would be cheaper and perform the same and sometimes better than a 120/140 AIO

I would change the PSU to EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR

I would also change the MB to (MSI Z97-GAMING 7) as it will match the case or with similar price and staying ASUS (Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER)

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 @1500mhz + 8000Mhz CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k Delided and Overclocked @4.8  MB: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT  RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory CPU Cooler: Corsair HG10+ H90 +H90 CASE: Corsair 380T  Storage: 120GB Samsung Evo SSD + Crucail 256GB Mx100 + 2TB Seagate/  OS: Windows 10 64bit Power supply:  Corsair RM750

Why such an expensive mobo? You can get one that will perform just as good for half the price.

And as far as keyboards go I LOVE my Logitech G710+. It is mechanical so its not "cheap" but its really good. If it ever broke I would be forced to buy a new one within 5 minutes... lol

What kind of keyboard are you looking for? Membrande gaming? Regular membrane? Mechanical gaming? Regular mechanical?

Any cheap monitor from BenQ, ASUS, LG, etc are good options. You want a good price, not great quality, so I guess any regular TN panel should be okay.

The Enthoo Pro is right about that budget and it's a pretty nice case. There's also the s340, from NZXT.

If you'd like an opinion on your parts list....

Do you really need the 4790k? As you mentioned, you're already on the limit with your budget so... the 4690k really isn't enough?

As @Wesleydn said, those 120/140 AIO are not worth it. If you're not an extreme overclocker, I'd get the 212 EVO to help save some money;

You are spending more on your MOBO than you are on your CPU. And almost as much as you are spending on your GPU. That choice of mobo makes no sense, unless you're gonna take advantage of, pretty much, everything it has to offer. Which I don't think you will. I wouldn't spend over $200 on the MOBO if I were you;

8GB... I guess you could add more memory if you wanted to;

Any special reasons to get that specific SSD?

The EVGA SuperNOVA 650W (EVGA 120-G1-0650-XR) is cheaper and probably better than Corsair's.

Hope it helps.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k | CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 | Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z97 MARK 1 | Memory: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866MHz | GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 4GB Windforce

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO | PSU: CM Silent Pro 720W | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe | Headset: Corsair Vengeance 2100 | Keyboard: Logitech G710+ | Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Chroma
