Specs:

i7-5930k

H110 cooler

Asus Deluxe motherboard

G.Skills 3000mhz 16gb ram

1200w EVGA SUPERNOVA P2

r9 290

So im trying to get a stable 4.5ghz overclock with the ram running at 3ghz.

I currently have my settings at:

BCLK 125mhz

Multiplier 36

Vcore 1.32v

Ram set to 3000mhz

I can post and start up just fine and run normal tasks but am having a hard time to get stability when running prime95 my 5th core seems to hate me and spits out errors.

after 3-5 mins temps hit a stable 86 degree max without any spiking. thats 19 degrees below TJmax and any throttling.

Im starting to get uncomfortable with increasing the voltage as it seems like 1.32v is pretty high when all im running at is 4.5ghz.

Does anyone know if theres settings in the bios that might cause instability? I have had to turn of C states as im running a raid 0 array of SSDs and they crash trying to recover from c state.

Is 1.32v normal for this clock speed?

Update your BIOS. People have had issues with stability on this board, but after the newest BIOS update all the stability issues are supposed to be fixed.

If that doesn't work, try lowering your CPU multiplier and improving your cooling if you can. It probably isn't a heat problem, but it's worth testing.

I am running 1004 so i dont think its a bios issue. Anyone know if 1.35v is ok on haswell e?

not really recommended going over 1.3. But try to higher to that and run a stress test program for a few hours. keep an eye on temps!
