Nvidia Cards Under 180$

Go to solution Solved by deathjester,

Hello I need help in finding a gpu under 180$ that perform well on Battlefield 4. I am new to PCs and I need help, I well be running a budhet pc under 500$, an Amd fx8320 3.5 ghz 8core cpu. This computer is mainly for GAMING. I will have 8gb of Crucial Ballistix ram. I need a card that stays cool, and performs good in demanding games. If anyone could recommend a card and perhaps include benchmarks? I want a card that will last me a couple years.

Edited. Sapphire is cheaper and prob a better brand than the XFX. Sapphire makes some very good AMD cards.

Get that. $164.99 and Mantle will help the CPU you have on BF4. Will perform as well or better than a GTX 760 that is quite a bit more, has 3 GB VRAM and helps the CPU you have quite a bit in BF4.

Card should last you the entire "next gen" at 1080p with higher than console settings. Has the VRAM for bad ports and is quite a bit more powerful than PS4.

Nvidia shouldn't really be considered atm until a GTX 970 or as an upgrade to a Dell with a crappy power supply that can't be replaced, where the 750ti can be a good option. Add to this Battlefront will be Mantle. All upcoming Battlefields will be Mantle.

750ti and maybe a 760 on a good sale. The 750ti will give you a solid 60fps locked at high settings. The 750ti is a great card for gaming when not aiming to max everything out. The card is maxwell so it stays as cool of a card as ANY card will EVER be on the market right now. Just type 750ti into youtube, you will get a mass of reviews for it.

hardware canucks reviews are my go to for written reviews. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/65440-gtx-750-ti-review-maxwell-arrives.html

$180? For $240 you can get an R9 290 which violates a 750Ti in every possible way. Originally a $500 card and very high end while the 750Ti is entry level. Spend the extra $60 and get a card with some power.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

It violates it in a way that is not safe for work.

There really aren't any Nvidia cards south of the GTX 970 that I would recommend, with the only exception being the 750 Ti only if you needed an ultra low-power card for some reason. AMD offers a better price/performance value at every price segment up to about $300.

I mostly want to play demanding games like Battlefield 4 at 60 or more frames on high. I want a good first pc build.

You should be able to find a Radeon R9 280 for around $180-200. Battlefield 4 is sponsored by AMD, so their hardware actually gets a bit of a boost there over Nvidia's equivalents. The R9 280 should manage 60 FPS at 1080p and high/near-max details.

R9 280 for that price. You can use mantle, which will net you a substantial gain in fps with a budget cpu.

Amd owns the sub 300 dollar gpu segment. I wouldn't touch an Nvidia card if you are on a tight budget or you cant splurge for a 970.

You can also get an xfx 280x for under 200 right now. Not sure how good xfx is but the 280x gives a little bump up over a 280.
