**Please don't recommend I get this other cpu, or something like that. I have my reasons for getting this cpu as I'm getting it for $0.00.**

So in my new build I'm looking to pick up the GTX 770 (Don't want the 970, as it's too expensive).

I'm also getting an i5 760 @ 2.8 (I plan to oc obviously).

So a quick question, will the 760 bottle neck the gtx 770?

Note: In the future I will upgrade to a new cpu and mobo, but for now I might have to stay with this.

I'm pretty sure it won't.

I'd try to look for a gpu with at least 3gb vram btw.

If you live in the US, the R9 290 is $270 from Newegg, you can get a combo on it, *and* you get 4 free games.

It's a great deal, and it'll perform as well as if not better than the 770.

Probably not. I suggest you take a look at the r9 290, the price have fallen (or even the 280X). 2GB of vRAM is simply not enough these days.

I don't mean to start a war or anything. But I rather go with an Nvidia card. Any recommendations for a Nvidia card that's got around 3-4gb for about $300(usd) that will perform good in 1080p?

On the CPU side of things....

If you plan to OC that 1366pin i5 then yeah I'd go for it, if you were not overclocking, It's a subjective thing... Games/Encoding times will suffer, everything else won't change much, Windows will still be snappy and such..

It should still have quite a long life left in it... even with a lower baseclock than I'd like, which can be remedied with an OC again...

If your swaying a little to more modern - I'd recommend a modern 1150pin CPU like the 4690 (non-K) , or even the -K model as eventually you may wanna OC that too.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I'm more focused on upgrading my gpu at the moment. If I wanted to upgrade my cpu, I would have to get a new mobo which would cost around at least $400(usd).

Evern running stock it will not bottleneck. You might get a 5-8% difference with Firestike benchmarks over a new 1150 i5

And bottleneck is a relative term. It really means nothing. Okay well it could mean the slowest section of the buss. Nothing slow about a Lynnfield i5

thats your answer.

Watch out for each other. Love everyone and forgive everyone, including yourself. Forgive your anger, forgive your guilt. Your shame. Your sadness. Embrace and open up your love, your joy, your truth, and most especially your heart.
