So whats the cheapest desktop that you can build, with all new parts, and a new copy of windows? This is what I came up with:

Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($48.89 @ Amazon)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($39.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($29.99 @ Amazon)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)  ($96.99 @ Best Buy)
Total: $360.83
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-11-07 21:59 EST-0500

If it was sold for 400 dollars and given everything was free shipping, it would be 40 dollars profit and a decent computer for the price (better than a bestbuy tower)

What do you guys think?

Assuming you need a GPU in that build because the C2D doesn't have a iGPU.

You missed the age of the system though. iGPU was on the chipset until the Core i series was released. The G41 chipset on the board he chose has GMA X4500 on it.

I knew that the iGPUs were on the chipset, i'd never payed attention to the C2D series when it came out because i was using a 64 X2.

Probably not, for slightly higher the e7300 or similar is better, I use it in my school and it is decent enough for basic tasks like word and web browsing.
