How powerful of a cpu do i need to run games like DOTA2, LoL, and Starcraft2 on 1080p 60fps with no/mild overclocking.

 

This is the MoBo i plan on getting  -  http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97anniversary   Does this motherboard even have the capability to OC, if not what motherboard should i get???

How powerful? A pentium will do

What would i recommend? any i5 k series with a z mobo.

And as far as i know H series MOBOs doesnt support OC

Most do nowadays, although you still need (or really should) go with a z board for any overclocking more than the g3258.

If you don't want to OC, I'd say the 4690 should be good enough, or the i5 4440 if you want it for cheaper. 

Getting a K-skew chip is only necessary if you intend to OC, and really, for Dota, LoL and Starcraft I don't think they're gonna be taxing those CPUs all that much.

Remember to be a good citizen and choose a 'best answer' when your problem has been resolved!

(that way people know when a problem's been resolved)

For those games, the 20th Anniversary Pentium or any i3 should be sufficient.

 

H97 motherboards do not support overclocking. If you're looking to overclock, Z97 boards are the way to go.

All boards, even H81 boards do support overclocking now; but they're not really designed for it, and as such its not a great idea to try and overclock anything more than a G3258 on one.
