I dont know why this is what it is but i do know this is a standard thing to see. My 1GB 560 ti SOC shows 4GB VRAM shared with windows, and the card itself is only 1GB of actual memory. I believe it may be that windows sets-a-side system memory (RAM) for GPU related "stuff". Sorry i cant ecplain this better hopefully someone can flesh out this information for you in a better way for understanding and also enlighten me more to ^^

The graphics memory displayed in dxdiag and in system properties includes shared system memory.....dont bother too much about it!!

some computers will share system ram with your gpu you can usually disable it in bios and the peroblem is that 1600mhz system ram is a quarter of the speed of your gtx 680 vram and also the latency from the dimm slots is high because of the relitive distance that needs to be travelled so you are better off turning system shared ram for graphics cards off in the bios. The system shared graphics ram is mainly used for low end gpu cards like the radeon hd 5450
