So I'm in search of a new laptop, but I'm not exactly sure where to start. I'm looking at a Lenovo ThinkPad T430, but does anyone have any other recommendations?

I'll mainly be using it for school and media consumption and perhaps some very, very light gaming (minecraft and other Indy games). I'm looking to spend around $800 or so and I really, really don't want to go over $1,000.

The main thing I'm concerned about is build quality and battery life.

Also, should I wait for Haswell laptops? And does anyone have any idea when Haswell laptops are going to start to saturate the market?

I would say, wait for Haswell since it got a so much better battery life plus I think the iGPU would help you in someway for your light gaming but I would still recommend a laptop that have a decent enough dedicated GPU.
