What is MCH temp?

I'm using a Gigabyte motherboard. Using the hardware monitor as I'm running some stress tests however I have also noticed this is BIOS too. "MCH Temperature", I've tried googling and have no clue what this is, can anyone help me figure this out?

like the Northbridge? Do I need to be concerned about the temperature of this? Compared too all my other system components, this is the only one that is running hot. Average computing temp is 41C(105F).

PCH is a better term since modern CPUs have those things built into the CPU. This will help you out:

What cpu and motherboard do you have?

My CPU is an Intel i7 980, motherboard is GigaByte GA-X58A-OC.

LGA 1366 had a north and south bridge, so it in this case it would be part of your motherboard. 

 

As far as temperatures - it's not something  I've ever taken into consideration, so I'm not sure of the safe limit.
