Planned build, tips?

Hi all

Planning a build to complete around December (due to availability of some parts)

Mostly for gaming, running a single 1080p monitor, intending to purchase a second one in the future (1080p 144Hz G-Sync)

Possible image editing and video rendering (have dabbled with it occasionally before)

 

Any thoughts would be appreciated

 

ALL PRICES IN AUD

Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) - $119 (in stock in December)

Intel i5-4690k - $279

Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK - $229 (already purchased)

G.Skill Ripjaws Z 2400MHz 4x4GB DDR3 - $219

Corsair HX850i - $229 (already purchased), the 850W was $15 more than the 750W, so... yeah I know it's overkill, but means i can SLI later

EVGA GTX980 SC (reference) - $799

Some peripherals and brackets etc.

 

Total for the build is around $1900, $2200 including peripherals and accessories

Already have ssds and hdds from a previous build that has died on me

2xOCZ Vertex 3 60GB SSDs in RAID 0 for system

2xSamsung 840 Pro 128GB SSDs in RAID 0 for frequently played games

3TB WD Green for storage

Some random 750GB Samsung HDD which has all my files on it when I had trouble with the 3TB (old motherboard Z68 chipset didn't support >2TB without a new driver) and didn't think to reinstall storage drivers, I'm a doofus

 

Planning to upgrade to water cooling in the future

 

I've also added two double SSD brackets for the Enthoo Primo which I'm assuming will fit in the Pro because apparently they fit in the Luxe

Yeah

And so I'll probably just use the top HDD cage and stick a 120mm fan down at the bottom

Also have a sort of white theme going with some white cable extensions for all (visible) internal power cables

 

Yeah gonna hopefully end up with EK waterblocks, clear tubing - white fluid sort of thing going

This'll be a long process

 

Especially since the soonest I can get all the parts I need is around mid-december

But here's some pics anyway

Using my macbook right now which is pretty crappy, but at least it's something

 

Storage central. I'm actually not sure both the 60GB ssds work, one of them was connected to a faulty power cable for a while, so it might be messed up, idk

This is where I sit

I put stuff on my macbook to maximise my 'stuff' area

PS3 also lives here, but monitor doesn't have speakers

So it displays video through hdmi-dvi to the monitor and sound through rca to a dac then to crappy apple headphones

Better than nothing

PS3 also heats up a lot, so I have an old psu with a bridged 24-pin running a few fans to move hot air away from the PS3 area

And that beanie is where I keep all my crap

What to though?

I previously had an R4 but wasn't fond of the lack of cable management options in the back, and I was impressed by the Enthoo Pro (mostly due to hardware canucks and linus) that I've pretty much only considered the Pro and the Luxe for case options
