Hi guys wondering if anyone who know's their stuff regarding PC gaming could help me, i'm going to upgrade my gaming pc (New GPU and new PSU)
I was wondering if GPU's such as the AMD r9 290, AMD r9 280x, Nvidia's GTX 770 (and similar) graphics cards would be compatible with my rig (and work well), my motherboard is the GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3, I have an AMD 6 core processor AMD FX 6300, I also have 16gb of DDR3 ram. I only have a rubbish 450w PSU and a crummy amd radeon 6670 gpu hence the wanted upgrade.

Can anyone confirm that these would work fine with my current hardware listed, i'm a little concerned regarding possible Bottlenecking due to my 6 Core 6300 (it's running stock clock speed)

and any PSU should be fine as long as it's got enough power for my GPU etc?..

Thanks guys, Jonny.  :)

Hi @saltandpeppin remember to follow your topics in the top right of the page and quote those you are replying to using the quote button at the bottom right of the post, so what I need to know to help is budget and location, my suggestions without more info are R9 280x or a GTX 770 with either a Seasonic or Evga PSU in the 600W range

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

Thanks! sorry i'm new haha, I live in the UK and budget isn't a huge issue it's more a case of what's the best FPS/Resolution I can get in new games with my FX6300 and avoiding buying a £300 GPU which would be bottlenecked by my CPU. I will be upgrading to a better PSU due to the new graphics card yeah it's definitely needed haha  :)

R9 290 and this Superflower PSU (Superflower are the OEM behind Evga) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-014-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2057

There will be a bottleneck but shouldn't be to severe particularly if you can overclock your FX-6300 to about 4.2GHz

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)
