non-ecc memory in compatible board

i recently bought a dell c6100 motherboard and 2x8gb drr3 reg ecc memory and since it might be possible that i run into trouble with memory channels etc i was wondering if it is possible to put non-ecc memory in a server board and if yes would it also be possible to combine non-ecc with ecc reg memory
