grado SR80E

I am going to buy this headphone.but i need some tips how to adapt to an on ear headphone cus iam from over-ears closed headphone and going to on ear open headphone, tips please how to adapt :) . and is grado's durable ? cus iam going to use for a long time like 4 years or more. and is it comfortable ? iam a heavy headphone use like 6 hours a day cus that how long i use computer everyday. and yes i only use it in my ROOM ( still in college ) alone and the headphone rarely or never go outside, so iam ok having a oven headphone cus i one of the lucky/unlucky ( depent or the person perspective ) person in university who doesn't have roommate. yay !!!

They are comfortable yes, but IMO they are built very cheaply, and are super flimsy.

You will most likely have to be careful with them.

 

Another option would be the HD518, it's more durable IMO.

The GRADO's headphones are realy good. They are entry level hifi headphones. And yes they are cheaply build, but that money has been put in the improvement of the sound quality. Trust me, my dad sells these things in his own hifi store :)

what about the sound ? is it really "bright" sound ? and is the cheap build is expensive enough to stood the test of 4 years wear ? ( if you know what iam saying ). iam asking the sound cus i can't try it at local shop, i have to order it online but, just to be careful i haven't order it

The 518 are $79 on amazon, from what I saw the SR80E is $99?

The 518 are more of a balanced sound than the SR80E.  If you want a bit of bass, the SR80E have almost zero bass under 90 hz.

 

IMO the 518 are a better all-around headphone.

 

 

Here's how they perform against eachother in terms of frequency response.  The lines indicate how loud each frequency is relative to the other frequencies.  

 

From the chart, you can see the SR80 has a LOT of treble compared to the 518.

thanks for the chart (y) ! but i know headphone is all about the sound and iam that person cus i don't use headphone outside but the 518 look very wierd.. sorry but i can't in this case even the chart said 518 is better ( and maybe it is better ) the look is the deal BREAKER. i go with the SR80E..btw what IMO mean ? #IAM_A_NOOB .
