I'm buying a new SSD soon, and was curious about the process of migrating drives. I mostly just want windows 8 and a couple games on it (it's gonna be 120gb) so I won't be cloning my whole drive. From what I've read, it looks like I just install windows on my SSD same as my HDD and it's good to go. Will I be able to use my old copy of windows 8? Is there anything wrong with having windows 8 on my HDD and SSD simultaneously? It just seems too easy to plug in the SSD and install windows (which I've already forgotten how to do. Any help/guide is very welcome.

I also remember Linus used some intel software for drive migration in a video. I'll find that and see if it's what I'm looking for.

If you get a Samsung SSD, use Samsung's data migration software. It's really good because if you want it can only move your OS to the SSD and have media on a different drive.
