is this cpu gonna be decent for gaming i already have it and am stuck with it for a while so will it get the job done with a r9 285 gpu 

 

what upgrades should i go with later if i need to 8350 or some kind of intel what intel boards are a good cheap choice and what cpu and socket type right now i have 

a asus m5a99x and the 6300 about to be built

i upgraded to the fx-6300 back in august. i was running an athlon 2 x250 OC'D to oblivion on stock cooler. 

 

I think we're good for a few years, 2-3 maybe. with a decent card I think we can play at good graphic for a while.

Nah 6300 is fine. Just overclock it. In pretty much every game, 6300 and 8350 if at the same clock speeds will perform exactly the same.

Grab a 970 gaming/UD3P, you're spending almost as much on the board as the CPU (or more in the UK).
