Hey guys, I'm building a PC, an i3 4150 and a Amd r9 280, can I settle with a 500w power supply? I've been to various sites for PSU wattage but I wanted to know your opinions.

Yep. Intel is generally pretty good on power consumption, so you'll be fine.

A XFX 550W or if your on a budget EVGA 500B.

You're totally fine on wattage. The i3 uses 54 watts under load and, unless you're on an overclocked Titan, you won't be breaching the 500 Watts with a single GPU setup even if it's overclocked.
