I asked a similar question like this before but I would like some feedback now that I have specific parts already ordered and a plan that I'm going by.

So will I have heat problems with 2 GTX 970s in an SLI setup?

My system will be;

I5 4690k OC and H100i

Z97 MSI Gaming 5

Corsair HX 850w Gold

And some Corsair fans for the H100i and rear intake. I will leave NZXTs fans in the front. (So 1 exhaust fan with the h100i running in exhaust in the top, with nzxts 120mm fans and later 2 140mm noctuas for the front intake or another good 140mm fan.)

I plan at first to buy a single gtx 970 and later SLI. I have not seen on a solid answer as to whether or not there will be heat problems in this case. I also plan to OC the 970s slightly.

I'd get a blower style cooler.

I'd get an open air cooler for the lower noise.

Since the H440 has poor airflow, you won't have much room in terms of overclocking.

However, you when you replace the front fans with nf f12's from noctua, it will help alot with cooling as far as i've heard.

But i would always recommend getting a phanteks enthoo pro for a 100 dollar budget on a case. For better looks, get the Enthoo luxe.

I use blower cards for my 660ti SLI setup and I am very happy with them. They are not loud like everyone always claims. I am looking to sell them and move up to a single 970 and I will DEFINITELY be getting the MSI blower card. It uses the titan cooler, where the other blowers use the stock EVGA cooler form the 670.

Long story short is that 970s don't really produce a ton of heat and therefore you will not have any issues.

The titan cooler is actually one of the quieter blower coolers around. Compared to open air coolers though, blowers are easily louder especially when oc'ed.

In terms of noticeable gains in FPS which are enough to change settings up higher, no.

So if I get another GTX say in a year, will will OC even make that much if a difference on FPS?

Look at benchmarks. Oc'ing makes quite a bit of difference and the 970 is generally a great oc'er.

It makes SOME difference, but 4-6fps in average FPS isn't really anything to write home about in my opinion. All the added heat really isn't worth it.

The H440 is a great case. Not my favorite of my first choice, but it is definitely a good case.
