So basically    I should be fine with buying Windows 8.1 Student on the Microsoft store, there are no downsides... ?

I am considering (kinda already decided) to buy Windows 8. I want to get Student, because it's cheaper and my budges is well... not doing well. Are there any downgrades? I am going to be using it mostly for gaming (but not completely).

where do you study?

 

I checked my college( kinda equals to a high school in US) in DreamSpark, and I was eligible for a win 8.1 for free, legally

Lol I just found out that I don't get it right through dreamspark. I have to open my school's webstore first. They have like everything there... except Office...

I got it through my schools webstore as well through dreamspark... and same here, yay, office, and since then, I have a service pack for the office...

One of the older students talked to the head of this whole dreamspark thing at my school and he meant that the first office packs will arrive around easter. I think I'll have to stay with Office 2010 till then :/
