Hello, when I am trying to go into my bios it just doesn't load up, it just goes onto a black screen and then I need to reset the computer. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this?

I am using an Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard, 8 gigs ddr3 corsair vengeance ram, r9 280x, Hyper 212 cpu fan, amd fx 8350 cpu.

I am using windows 8.1 64bit

Do you get error messages? What key are you hitting?

Does the system itself boot after this black screen?

Nope, it just stays on a black screen.

Did you just build it?

Yes, about a month ago.

Did you make any changes to it since then?

Try hitting Delete as soon as you press the power button or try another keyboard. Alternatively, unplug the boot storage and it should load up into the BIOS.

If none of this works, it could be that the motherboard/ BIOS may be back. Depending on your motherboards make, you can download the BIOS image, burn it on a pendrive, and without entering the BIOS, flash it. That should fix it.

Let us know what happens and I hope this helps! :)

How many RAM modules do you have? Two or one?

2 4gb sticks

You can also try removing one of the sticks and booting. If that doesn't work, you can then try swapping the sticks. I've had bad DIMMs give me black screens.
