Windows 7 x64 Lag, Performance Decrease (believed to be memory/handle loss) Help!

Hey, first time here!

BASIC INFORMATION I have recently been experiencing high lag and issues when playing games. It also occurs when just surfing the web, or doing anything on my computer. This has never been a problem for me. After running my system analyzer it informed me that DOTA 2 / chrome/ firefox was having memory + handle leaks. I used all the windows diagnostic tools to check for problems... Nothing

What I've tried to understand/fix the problem

I've gone through task manager/resource monitor and googled every single process. I checked handles, bytes read/written, memory private, etc.. Under 50 process when I start my computer and It shows 1.2-2gb of ram being used.

MSI Afterburner has core temps at 160F when running games.  100-130F when starting up. (this seems hot.. but I honestly have no idea)

Windows Experience Index Scores Processor 7.2, RAM, 7.5, Graphics 7,4, Gaming graphic 7.4, Primary Hard disk 5.9.. Nothing changed since the last time I ran it 5 months ago.

I am 99.9% sure there is no malware/virus' on my computer.. Honestly, there is nothing else in my power to check. I've been on with tech support that remotely accessed my computer and checked everything.. I feel confident.. this isn't the issue. (Maybe, I am wrong)

System Specs
Windows 7 x64

DDR 3 8 gigs

Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 ti

Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz

I can stare at resource monitor and afterburner all day, but in the end I have no clue what I'm looking for.

Before I scratch this PC as being broken, I figured I'd ask some experts. Please, note I am extremely careful about anything I download and use on my computer. I extensively research any program before downloading it. Someone had suggested Memtest, I am still researching it.

Thanks for any help! I hope I covered all the details.

edit Forgot to mention I have vacuumed / cleaned the inside of my PC

edit2

CrystalDiskinfo - Reports "Good" status on harddrive.. All blue

Ran memtest, two checks passed.  Going to allow it to run for a good 5 hours or so, report back when done.

edit3

Ran Memtest for 9 hours.  When I woke up it had 0 passed 0 failed.  I'm guessing default setting resets it.  Anyways, let the current "pass" finish and no errors.

I restarted my computer and defintely can feel some "drag" thats typical and I usualy shut down for 20 minutes or so.

Here are some screenshots of exactly what my computer looks like on start up.

I feel I may need to format to completey rule out a software issue... It's really the last thing I want to do as it will cause me to lose some money from restrictions placed on certain accounts.

Video card temps are totally fine.

What kind of lag is it? Describe it closer.

Ok, say I am surfing the web or paying a game like DOTA.  As time goes on I notice loss in performance, higher frame rates, and it just gets worse and worse until sometimes my browser will crash.  The game I always end up restarting computer before it crashes, I assume because it's too unplayable.

edit: I think those are my core processor temps, but I'm not an expert.  It lists 4 and I have 4

Webroot system analyzer tells me it's packet/memory loss.  Not sure how accuarte this is.. or if it's related.

i used to have similar kind of issue when i was using win 7 , try defragmenting your disks  it usually helps!

Sounds like a RAM or Hard drive issue to me.

I would say RAM since your browser crashes and the problem gets worse over time.

Download Memtest and run it for a few hours.

Also, I would recommend checking up on your hard drive(s) with CrystalDiskInfo.

And btw: doesn't matter what temps they are, it's fine.

OK, I researched Memtest.  Gonna run it today.  If everything is fine I'll look into CrystalDiskinfo.  This computer isn't even 2 years old.. what in the world could cause my hardware to go bad this quickly.. I guess a million things?

Took me a while to finally run CrystalDiskInfo.  Lots of controversey, but I made sure it had his digital signature and same file size as the non corrupt versions, and I'm paranoid haha!

Anyways, health report is "Good" everything is blue.

Now for MemTest.  I ran it but the results were skewed, do to my power in the house going out.  I am re-running it now.  If ram isn't the problem.. I don't know what to do!

Thanks again for your help and feedback!

It´s your ram! you need to upgrade or close google chrome entirely while gaming!

It makes sense, ram is full and your processor can´t work with a system that needs more ram than it has.

I have google chrome opened and its using about 5GB of ram

It is either RAM or processor, though the 2 are very interconnected. Happened to me on a laptop - didn't fix it yet as it doesn't bother me, since I mainly use my desktop, BUT - check RAM, do check if it is actually perfectly in place (which it 99.9%  is - but do it since you did vacuum the inside) - do a defrag and mess around with your page file size. try to decrease/increase it's size, see how that affects it. Also, what percentage of your RAM is being used normally when pc just starts up and when it starts glitching? - also check your CPU temperatures (changing your cooling paste every few years is never a bad idea if temps go up). - Computer does reduce the performance automatically after increasing fan speed if temp doesn't go down as much as expected by the system.

jesus do u have 50 tabs of fully loaded youtube videos and a shitton of add-ons? cuz mine barely every reaches a gig and i consider that massive for a browser considering that couple of years ago they only used 200-400mb tops.... Might wanna look into that, because the numbers are wayyy too high to be normal.

I never run any other apps, and always close down extra process before gaming.  Never have I ever gamed with browser opened.

Thanks, will look into it.  When my starts 1-2gb is used... seems high to me - under 50 processes.  This isn't something that's always happend.  It just began happening a month or so ago.  At first I thought it was my isp and getting bad lag.. then researched and pnig tests confirmed otherwise.. then I saw the system handle/memory loss report from webroot analyzer.. dug more

Not even close

Ran memtest, only gave time for 2 tests, both passed.  Going to let it run for probably 6 hours while I sleep.  (Late night).  See what results I get in the morning...

1-2gb on startup is perfectly fine with a total of 8gb available. Some might even call it low, but for 50 processes it's legit.
