Hello,

I am looking to build a z97 build and had a question I needed some opinions on.

I want the overall color scheme to be blue and black.

When it comes to motherboards which would be a better choice.

MSI Z-97 G55-SLI  (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K23BVXU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2VDE68PM53CPU&coliid=I1ICOYFVCOCSIJ)

or

MSI Z-97 Gaming 7 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K23BZTA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2VDE68PM53CPU&coliid=I1FDU83ZOIJ6S7)

With the Gaming 7 board I would take some high quality model paint and paint the red headsinks blue.

Which would you guys (or girls) do?

Thanks

-Pond

anything under 200 would be fine.  I just wanted it to be blue and run well.  If I can get by with only a G55 and not lose that much performance from the gaming 7 that would be fine.  Just unsure about the differences in performance.

the performance wont be different at all, the gaming 7 will probably have more features thats all

OKay, I was unsure about the overclocking capabilities of the G55.   I'm not planning on doing that much anyway, just wanted to be able to if I choose to.

motherboard is irrelevant to haswell overclocking...most of the voltage regulation is done on the CPU itself and the lower end Z87 or Z97 motherboard overclocks just as well.

The G55 SLI is a solid motherboard and a very good choice at a very reasonable price...no reason to spend a dime more especially if you're looking for a black and blue board.
