So I'm building a kick-ass gaming rig in a mid-case which will live in my room. I often have mates over to LAN at dining tables and benches around the house. My question is if my MacBook Pro will be able to game stream (through NVIDIA or Steam) from my rig to playing next to my friends - assuming the MBP is dual booted.

Am I able to expect a decent steam using a dual-band router while simultaneously hosting a game server - all over wifi?

If using Steam in home streaming, you'll be fine. My PC from 2008 works basically fine dropping few frames, my sister's from last year works perfectly, both over wifi.
