What is open box

Go to solution Solved by C_Mike,

I would assume it means the box has been opened either to put it on display or show a customer, or something like that

It means the box has been opened--likely a customer return.

Open boxes are fairly safe. It just means that it's a return but it's still in working condition. The item might or might not have been used though but it'll look exactly like a new one unless it specifically says so.

I am buying a new HDD and I have seen the label Open Box other then Refurbished. What does Open Box mean.

It refers to a product that has been opened, usually because the item was returned, or because a customer needed to verify something specific about the product. The store will usually tape the box shut, put it back on the shelf, and discount it.

yesterday's weirdness is tomorrow's reason why
