Remote Desktop via Network

Hello,

Looking for an application that allows me to remotely connect/control/transfer files to another PC in my house. I want one that works within my network and not one that connects to a random server and the traffic goes through that, speed and security issues and all that.

Which one do you recommend?

you can use microsoft RDP but I never got to configure it correctly to work,but teamviewer can run on LAN (you have to enable accept LAN connections on settings) and it wont require internet or server connectivity to work

Really ? I've been using RDP for the last 10 years at work and at home and never had any issues really. Maybe something is blocking your RDP connection, such as a firewall ?
