Does the program you use support Cuda acceleration or use OpenCL?

Then unless you use GPU-accelerated ray-traced 3D renderer it does not matter at all. Try looking at an R9 280

Hey community, 

I am searching for the best bang for the buck video editing gpu for around €200 for a friend. 

Anyone suggestions?

This depends on the video editing program used, what is this friend of yours using or planning to use to edit his/her videos?

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Not a nvidia card?

Like I said, it does not matter. If he uses the GPU-accelerated Ray-traced 3D renderer (Mouthful lol) then he should use an Nvidia card. Otherwise the R9 280 is much better value.

My unbiased recommendation would be to go for an NVIDIA GPU. ;)
