I haven't used my computer for a while now because I was waiting for a new motherboard and RAM stick. Once I got the parts and got everything settled as soon as I got started up on my desktop at the bottom right of my screen it says Windows 8.1 Pro Build 9600. Thought it was a glitch until it told me I had to enter a windows key. I didn't understand why. Then I looked at error details and it came up with 0xC004C003. Is there any way I can get around this? I have almost no idea why this happened.

By the way, I got the product key from g2a.com for about $25. Maybe I got scammed?

A quick search brought up several results of people having bought codes second hand and Microsoft rejecting them on the basis that they were student codes that had been resold. Have you tried activating over the phone?

^ probably this... Student codes are easy to get and cane be easily resold on G2A.

So I guess there is no hope in getting my product code back?

Not likely, however I would contact Microsoft and explain to them the situation anyway. Going by this scenario (even if not quite identical), they may issue you another key, depending on who you talk to. Also, I have never bought anything from G2A, but I seem to remember they had some sort of key guarantee. You may want to contact them as well. Best of luck!

Click on the Start button, in the Search box type

SLUI 4

and hit the Enter key. follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you
