The R9 290 will probably bottleneck but with the OC to 4.5GHz it's probably a small bottleneck. It's worth looking into a better CPU though, either FX-8320 or Intel I5/I7 (Recommended)

Hello everyone.

 

I currently have a fx 4300 running at 4.5Ghz as my CPU.

I was wondering what gpu i can run before getting into a massive bottleneck. I am interested in knowing if a r9 290 would be a worth while investment?

 

What graphics card do you have at the moment?

Intel i7 3770K [] Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 [] MSI R9 290X 4GB [] 16GB  G.SKILL 2133Mhz [] Crucial MX100 256GB [] WD Black 1TB [] XFX Pro 850W [] Fractal Define R3 [] Func MS-3 R2 [] Corsair K60 []

I own a FX-8320 with an R9 290 and the performance is pretty much the same with an i7 + R9 290 combo.

(Ran some benchmarks, games , etc and compared them to what ppl got with an i7 since this CPU is pretty old)
