Hey i am doing my first build and just checking if it's an ok build and if there's anything i should change about it.

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/rXT8xr

  • I will be overclocking cpu and gpu.
  • do i need more fans for it to run and good temps.
  • is this the right ram? i want 16gb because alot of games require 8gb and they will definitely require more in the future.
  • is the k70 rgb worth it or is it just a extra 60 dollars for annoying rave lights that you can't admire while you are busy.
  • is that mobo fine for what i need (don't know the difference between different ones apart from max ram and size).
  • should i go 1440p 60hz instead of 1080p 144hz

I will be building this in January/February (depending on when i have enough spare time) and will upload complete build when I do.

If you'll be OCing your CPU, the H100i will be fine, but if you're only playing games get an i5 4690K instead, because the i7 won't give you any extra gaming performance.

The motherboard is fine, but for gaming nowadays there are very few games that will actually use up all 8GB of RAM, so I would still go with 8GB now and then you can always add more later.

The case is also huge for the amount of hardware you're getting and money you're spending, with a smaller motherboard you could easily fit the whole thing in a mini-ITX case and spend considerably less.

An awfully big case for the build. The three stock fans and two on the H100i should provide more than enough air flow.

EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR is a better psu.

What case would you recommend and would be going with a fully modular psu like that be more beneficial than a semi modular?

Corsair 450D

A fully modular psu makes things a little easier when assembling a system. I suggested the EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR because it is a better psu than the CSM-750. 80+ ratings certify the electrical efficiency of psu, not the quality of delivered power nor unit construction.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
