Need advice on CPU

Hi i'm planning my first build and i need some advice on something

 

Im planning to get a Maximus VII Hero along with a GTX 970 graphics card, but i'm not too sure of the processor.

After watching Linus's video on the g3258 vs i7-4790k and i think the g3258 is a good idea.

 

But will i face any issues such as bottenecking or any other problems, also how does the g3258 handle minor workloads?

 

I'm planning to build a gaming rig, and i usually run a game, skype, music player and chrome open simultaneously, does the dual core g3258 face any issues handing that?

 

All thoughts and advice are appreciated, please help me out! :>

If it was me I would get the 4790k as you can overclock it to get even better performance as it is a k series chip

The G3258 handles minor workloads perfectly fine.  It's when you hit stuff like multitasking (browsers with loads of tabs, games, CPU intensive stuff like BF4 etc) where you might be better off with an i5 or i7

And the cpu I think would best suit you on z97, is a i5 4690k. It demolishes the pentium, but isn't as good as the i7 in workloads, hence the i5.

Oops should have done this earlier haha, Yea i'm also considering the 4690k by what can i expect to get if i make the $200 price jump?

Not dropping frames when you have 3 tabs open in chrome and trying to play a few games. A better experience overall compared to the pentium.
