w8 is way better than w7, but if is cracked you will have problems if you intall many softwares with time, many games etc etc, try and buy 8.1 and then you will have w10 for free.

The blood on to your heart start pumping faster when you notice me.

But is ok.

Windows 8 does have more gaming power potential. That said, I can't find anything else good to say about W8, and i'll go even so far as to say that I hate it. Yes, there are fixes for most of the things that I hate... but that's simply it, why would I "upgrade" to something that I have to fix?

I've seen it many times now, people telling others to pick up Windows 8 so that Windows 10 is free, but to my knowledge (and a quick google search) simply says that it's a possibility, but it's currently unknown if it's true. I would not factor that in to your decision until you have a concrete answer either way.

Lol yea someone told me get windows 8 so you get w10 for free. And I'm like thinking that windows 10 would still have some bugs like windows 8 did/still does? So I'm just in a dillema. The person lending me windows 8 was asking why I'm getting it when windows 7 is better. I don't know I guess I just need a second opinion.

Building my first PC and I actually don't know which OS to get. Both I can get for free from a friend (I think?)

so I don't know which one to get. Some say windows 8 isn't good for gaming...which I'm not sure.

Any info would be helpful :D

windows 7 simply because of stability, there's a reason windows 8 has such a short lifespan.

"lending" uhm... yeah... :P "lending" doesn't go so well with licensed software :P

Anyway... like I said, we don't know for certain that Windows 10 will be free for 8.1 users, and at this point, I can not see a logical reason to use that as a deciding factor (in any capacity), this may very well all change if it is, in fact, true that Windows 10 will be free for 8.1 users, but i'd need to see legally citable evidence to convince me as such.

An new OS will always have bugs, that's undeniable, but over time they do get fixed. That's not a reason to not by an OS, it's a reason to not be an early adopter. Based off of the developer build, I can't say i'm entirely happy with Windows 10 in it's current state, but it's leaps and bounds ahead of 8. Microsoft seems to be evolutionary with their OS releases. The evolution always seems to be the better iteration rather than the revolution release. Vista and Windows 8 are the two most recent examples. 7, and where 10 looks to be going, again, back that up. This could all change, though, as it is NOT a shelf product yet, and is still very much changing face every day.
