I know but I'm sure Linus said something about not doing things like that, I could be wrong but I'm sure he has.

Because this forum is for users on every level. Owen had the chance to post a proper answer, but instead choose to post a useless dicky response. Which is the basic concept of this forum to avoid.

Mgsstar did it right, told him how to find the answer and linked it.

There is also a certain amount of logic that needs to be applied to every situation.

Pretty much this.

Does that mean I get to ask "What is an intern" and not expect any posts that tell me to google it?

Obviously. But something that's logic to you might not be to someone else.

And it most likely took the same amount of time or longer, to post the dicky answer. So where's the logic to that?

Correct, except apparently you can't. So if you started a topic asking about RIPv2, because that to you seem "advanced". Would you then be happy about a lmfgty link, because to me that's basic knowledge. And in my head I think that everyone would know about that?

This is a common sense question rather than an advanced topic.
