Case front fan rattling.

To my knowledge fans are very accurately5 balanced and its probably easier to replace for 20-40 bucks than try to fix it.

Just look up the size and get a new fan.

(I could be wrong but I think its probably not worth it)

P.S. You could figure out if the blades are hitting anything. or the reason for the rattle.

The fan is rattling but the blades are not hitting anything. Strange? So why is rattling? Can you tell me?

Bearings.

Fan bearings wear out, I end up replacing many of mine every couple of years. Probably just spend $15-20 on a new fan - which will be better that the original anyway.

Most likely the bearings but check the screws are not loose first that could cause rattling aswell but that would mean that most of the screws would have to be loose and shouldnt happen over time.

Might be the panel rattling, every part of your system that has a moving part is causing the case to vibrate. Since it's an old case the front panel or the optical bay covers may not be as solid as they could be. Apply small amounts of pressure to it in various locations, if the sound stops then find something to act like a shim.

If that doesn't help, it may be front panel cables. If they're built into the panel and not the case then they could be somewhere the aren't intended to be.

I mount again front panel of case and still no rattling. Question . I remove sponge from front panel. It can be because earlier fan was touching sponge from front panel?

Could be, fans don't react well to things touching them while moving. Though that sponge is your air filter so you may see some more dust.
