Cars and computers are so closely knit know I think it would be cool to start a car electronics sections. It could cover everything from speakers to GPS systems. Tell me what your think and dont forget to vote :)

Yes! I don't know how many people would do them though.

I think in general a section for Embedded Systems projects, and/or Arduino/Raspberry Pi projects would work.

Like right now im trying to figure out a way I could wire usb charging ports to every seat in my car but still have it look good and not just like a garage project. How I want to do it is put some charging ports in the back seat towards the bottom of the center console and use something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-USB-3-0-Female-To-Motherboard-20-Pin-IDE-Cable-Adapter-/310657744897?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4854a50001 so i can just screw it in and it would still have a fairly clean look. The problem is im trying to find somethings thats usb to usb like that (with the screw holes) not usb to 20 pin. So of anyone could has something in mid I would be grateful.

I just think car electronics are gradually fading out.It just is not as popular as it was when I was a teen, 15 years ago. Most cars now a days have great electronics come with them when you buy them, such as 8-10 inch woofers, LCD displays, Navigation etc.... there is is no demand on setting up your car like us use to anymore.

Instead of that, there should be an area for cars overall. Btw what do you think about the new Mercedes S-class. Someone needs to fire their designer NOW.

Can't see it happening, although a dedicated car subforum is needed.

 

Personally I would love an auto-electronics subforum though, at the moment I am researching programmable ECUs like the Megasquirt kit and could use a hand understanding it all
