Like a prick I have bought this without reading much into it, is this cooler any good?

I would have recommended Hyper evo 212

It's decent, a little worse than a Hyper 212 EVO, but should do fine with light to moderate OC on your i5.

Cheers mate, I was going for a Core i7-2600K but they were too much and the thing that also made me buy this is the fact that it has never been used. Literally brand new,

Nice, I am using one (2500K) in a secondary rig that I plan to put together in the coming months.

 

It hits 5.2GHz, makes me excited. I just hope a Dark Rock 3 can handle it :P

Its the 212's little brother. One less heatpipe and a smaller fin stack. Dont expect good OC results as it cant really cope with high TDP and the fan can get obnoxiously loud. I can tell because I used to have one.
