static when waking from sleep??!?!!??

New problem you guys. uhhh. like the title says. my pc is now having nightmares! just started yesterday. first a bit of a hardware check for you guys so you know what to look for.

 

i5 3330 (replacing today as a matter of fact)

asus z77 ma-g45

16 gb crucial ballistix sport vlp

asus dcuii 660 ti oc

and my monitor is my 42 inch philips tv (connected through my surround sound reciever)

 

well like i said. nightmares. i woke my pc from sleep yesterday and holy crap the screen was flashing static!!! like a tv channel. i have absolutely no idea what is going on!

Are you using analog cables to connect to your monitor?

right now im using a dvi to hdmi to connect the pc to the receiver then the receiver to my tv

How about ruling things out. Does the problem happens if the PC is connected directly to a normal monitor over DVI?

If the problem is not there, try the PC to the TV directly with your DVI to HDMI cable.

If the problem is not there, then we know it's your receiver the problem.

ye like it is said above try and eliminate as many variables as possible. It is most likely the receiver.

This to me sounds like an issue with the TV more than the PC

 

Only other thing I would suggest is just reseating all of the cables and rebooting.

alright ill give it a try and let you guys know what happens
