WiFi speeds?

Hey guys,

The Mrs and I have the exact same phones using the exact same os and software.

Yet when I'm connected to the 5ghz channel on our bt infinity home hub 5 I get the full 75mbps down load and 18mbps upload...

But my partner only gets 25mbps download and 18mbps upload....

For the life of me I cannot figure out why?

Can anyone she'd any light on this?

Your phone might have priority over hers on the 5ghz channel

Is her phone using 2.4GHz? or is she testing the speed somewhere else in your home that gets poor signal?

Any app downloads/updates in the background? You're not testing at the exact same time are you? If you are, your phone is probably taking up all the bandwidth;test one after another.

Nope everything is disabled, we have the same apps disabled etc, and testing with 2 minute intervals in between..

We have sorted the problem now... .my partner installed a wifi optimizer app then restarted her phone and voila full 75mbps download speeds..
