For just a little bit more, and if you're willing to drop the SSD (which, let's face it isn't important unless you're super weird about boot/load times), you can get all the way up to an i7-5820k, which is a six-core workstation monster of a CPU. I put in the same cheap GPU because it sounds like gaming isn't really a priority, and it's good enough for most things so long as you don't care about running everything on ultra.
