Disable the onboard GPU in the BIOS.

Have you tried disabling the onboard video from the BIOS menu? If you haven't done that yet I suggest that you do. With the lack of information about your specs I can't for sure say what the issue is and I have no idea if you're running an APU or just onboard video from the mobo.

Or boot up with just the onboard gpu and the disable stuff as needed.

This. And make sure your GPU drivers are installed correctly, reinstall if necessary, had a similar problem with a laptop once, where the autoupdate would install VGA and ignore the GPU.

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...
