If you would be using the mac ecosystem regardless of the hardware, just stick with mac.  From what I hear, hackintoshes are hard and unforgiving to configure.

Also, what are you referring to with the "worse graphics" statement?  Are you referring to the display itself, or the graphics capability of the hardware?

Isopropyl alcohol is all you need for cleaning CPU's and motherboard components.  No, you don't need [insert cleaning solution here].  -Source: PhD Student, Chemistry

If you already use osx then stay with the mac. It's a pain in the ass to get the drivers to work properly on a hackintosh. Also no one can garantuee you that osx will acutally work on a nuc (very likely though).

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

Hard to choose.

If you need Mac OS X, then I would suggest the Mini if you are using it for work because you can't afford the problems which come with OS X via Hackintoshing. I am running 10.10 now on this system (In Sig) and I have had plenty of problems from the get go. Also as of now I would suggest 10.10 for NUC since they needs to be modded files to work etc.

Work related = Mac Mini (You won't have problems with OS X)

Just for a system = NUC (Could have problems at random times)

I'm going to go with the mac mini, just because it seems like a better bang for your buck thing.

Then I don't understand.  Why do you need to hackintosh it, then?

Well at that price difference I would personally go with a NUC and dual boot Windows and OS X.

no

So if you don't use a mac currently, and you don't need to hackintosh from what I've read of your replies, I'm going to change my recommendation.

Buy a nuc and don't bother hackintoshing it.  There is no reason to.
