some people have been telling me to get the zotac gtx gefore 970 instead of the gigabyte r9 290 windforce, which one do you think i should get?

None of them lol, the best EVGA 970 version or Asus Strix 970 as 2nd second choice.

I would say a GTX 970, preferably a EVGA card, just in case if you want to watercool.

The Zotac is a bit ugly but in general 970 is always a better choice then 290 when in close price range

Go for it. Lower power consumption, higher performance, monster overclocker.

970 is a bit faster than 290. So go for it if prices are similar.

970 is faster, with less power consumption thus less heat and less noise.

yes zotac is ugly, you should go with reference card, and if you want an AMD, try an r9 290X!
