Go with an i5, i3s are dual core with hyper threading, while i5s generally are quad core without hyperthreading.

The i5 will perform much better than an i3.

if you watch the video i linked him you can see that the i3 does quite well against the i5

If you're on a budget and want to upgrade to an i5 in the future, go i3. Otherwise, if you can afford it now, i5.

The difference is negligible.

It doesn't, they're quite close when it comes to gaming.

In apps it's a bit different, but again, probably not enough to be very noticeable unless you're moving between the two.

No they're not, in games that are heavily threaded (which is quite a few new games and pretty much every upcoming game) the i3 is weaksauce.

Don't base 2014 CPU advice on 2012 truths.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

BF4 is one of the few games that really  benefits from that, right?

It's the Beta, so I can only assume the final version performs better.

Also, it's the previous generation i3, not the current.

Is it as fast as an i5? No of course not. But it still more than holds its own, and is very close to AMD's true 8 core.
