I finally decided what parts I'm going to get. Any feedback/tips? What should I remember doing when replacing mobo, cpu,GPU? (Always used a mac, so never experienced it)

PS: The links are dutch

CPU: i7-4790k

GPU: MSI Gtx 970

Mobo: Asus Z97 Maximus VII Hero

PSU: Corsair AX860 80+ Platinum

CPU Cooler: Corsair H105

Case: NZXT H440

Fan setup:

Isn't a pull config on the H105 a better option?

I would make a few changes:

- Get the Gigabyte G1 gaming if you do not mind the blue LED Windforce.

- No need to go so expensive on the mobo unless you plan to do a more extreme OC

- Get the EVGA G2 850W. It's a lot less expensive but just as good unless you want corsair Link.

- H440 is known to have issues with airflow, you might want to get a different case like the Arc Midi R2, Corsair C70 or Enthoo Pro

The fan setup is good

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

You've already recommended me the Gigabyte G1, and as I said, the performance difference is minimal to none. I'm going for a red/black color scheme. Ever since the gigabyte came out, I wanted to get my hands on it, but after a lot of speculation, I'm getting the MSI. I'm going to be overclocking indeed, and I like the uefi BIOS asus ROG offers. About the PSU, I've chosen the Ax860 because of the color scheme and because it's platinum (Not like it makes a difference), I might change the PSU for a cheaper one indeed

@MasterRaceFanBoy If I'm done with the rig, I'll make sure to post a few, if you really want some.

msi z97 gaming 5?

I've been reading reviews about it, seems that the ROG is a tad better when overclocking. And apparently asus in general is better aswell. Besides, the MSI mobo is only 20 euros cheaper.

But can anyone tell me what I should be keeping in mind when installing all the new parts? I will be using the same SSD and HDD, still.

eh so far my personal experience with the z97 sabertooth has been alright, i'v used a gaming 5 bios for about an hour with my friends and id say they're pretty much equal other than the fan control that asus's new mobos have

The psu will be hidden in the H440 as it has a stealth cover, so it doesn't matter what colour the psu is. The EVGA G2 750W/850W is a cheaper option.

Yeah I know :P I'll see how much money I'll have left, since the PSU will probably be bought at the end.
