The build is:

CPU - i7 3770k

GPU - EVGA GTX 680 2GB

RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600

CPU Cooler - Hyper 212 EVO

Mobo - Asus P8Z77-V Pro ATX

Storage - 3TB Seagate Barracuda

Case - Cooler Master HAF X

PSU - Cooler Master 800W 80 PLUS Gold

So yeah. My build that I planned. Any suggestions on different parts?

I have a few suggestions:

1. Do you intend to do more than gaming? If you only intend to game, 8GB of RAM is more than enough.

2. Can I recommend a solid state drive? Such as the Samsung 840 Pro? Even 128GB is enough to make an enormous difference.

3. Do you intend to SLI graphics cards at some point (i.e. get another GTX 680)? If not, you will not need 800W of power; 500W should be sufficient.

4. Do you want to OC very high? The 212 Evo is a great cooler, but considering your budget I would go for something like an H100i if you have the spare dough.

5. That motherboard is high-end. If you would struggle with money, I would recommend you downgrade in order to purchase some of the components I recommend above.

1. Yes, I intend to do more than gaming. I'm a graphic designer and plan to start video editing.

2. I was thinking about getting one, but the build is really expensive as it is.

3. I was planning to SLI in the future.

4. Not planning to OC very high.

5. And I might downgrade the motherboard to get a SSD.

Thanks! Very good advice.

Good choice--graphic design is much easier when Photoshop opens instantly :P

Maybe an MSI Mpower board and getting a Samsung Pro SSD or a Kingston 3k. Swap the Seagate for WD drives.

15" MBP TB

AMD 5800X | Gigabyte Aorus Master | EVGA 2060 KO Ultra | Define 7 || Blade Server: Intel 3570k | GD65 | Corsair C70 | 13TB

Yeah, the Kingston generally has quite good reviews and excellent R/W speeds -- but I must ask, what is your aversion to the Seagate? I have one myself and quite like it, is there anything I'm missing?

Seagate Barracudas have a 2 year warranty while Western Digital Blacks have a 5 year. In general I've heard WD has a better reputation in reliability but both are fine for the most part, I don't think HDD failure is exactly an epidemic. I have a barracuda from a few years ago and nothing bad has happened to it.

Fair call. My opinion would be to go for whichever is cheaper, and I think certain models of the WDs may be cheaper as well.
