FPS

Go to solution Solved by SeanBond,

Obviously depends on the game but you will have a perfect 1080p 60fps ultra all games.

What game, what settings?

Edit: Quite imbalanced. Things to change:

- Get an MSI Z97-G55 SLI and an I7-4790k if you also do rendering/streaming otherwise an I5-4690k

- Get an SSD + HDD combo instead.

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

@mattyo1228

Not all games. FX8 struggles in a lot of games and will bottleneck a 980. Get an i5 and you can play all games at 1080p ultra at 60fps.

Much better and less expensive build:

PCPartPicker part list: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/tRh8xr

Except on The Evil Within. Worst PC port ever.

@OP You would be far better off with an i5 4690k build...

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

The 980 can wreck 1080p and 1440p. So 60+ fps is expected

what kind of FPS do you think I will be getting from this build?

If you are trying to aim for 1080p then definitely go with this instead. It will be much better for low quality ports and titles that only use 1 cpu core. Which there are still many, also you would be crazy CRAZY not to get an ssd in a build that expensive. Save little money, get a less expensive gpu that will still max out all games at 1080p right now. If I could fit in the same budget I would have put an ultrawide in there. But canadian prices are dumb on those things. You can a 25" 2560x1080p ips panel for 220 but the cheapest there is over 400. I would have to say that intel cpu's are massively better right now.

Ryzen 3700x -Evga RTX 2080 Super- Msi x570 Gaming Edge - G.Skill Ripjaws 3600Mhz RAM - EVGA SuperNova G3 750W -500gb 970 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 850 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 840 Evo  - 4Tb WD Blue- NZXT h500 - ROG Swift PG348Q
