hello everyone! so I just ordered a hyper 212 evo. I know very little about fans, and want to pick up a 120mm blue LED fan, or fans. My problem is they all look like case fans, and im not sure if there would be a difference or not. would it make a difference of more then 1 or 2 degrees?

I dont want to spend more money on the fans then the cooler.

my case will move plenty of airflow with 8 case fans.  thanks for any help!

Neither are led fans.

I'd suggest taking a look at Cougar Dual-X's if leds are a must.

Cooler master sickle flow is led, affordable and can develop reasonable static pressure. If you can live without PWM I'd go with that.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

going with the sp120s, would I see a major cooling difference? because this would turn my 30$ cooler to a 55$ cooler.

I work at mcdonalds and saving for a car, so buying a cooler at all is a big deal. the extra 20$ is a possible cheap night out. so wondering if it will make a difference. by difference, i mean 5*C or more.

The stock fan on the 212 Evo performs quite well. There isn't going to be a fan that can lower temps by 5c without being really loud.

Enermax T.B. Vegas, though a TwisterPressure and some LED strips would be my recommendation.

oh really? thought that dual higher end fans that cost as much as the whole cooler would have a bigger impact. so only go for different fans for aesthetics or sound reasons?

Better fans Like NF-F12' or SP120's can help lower temps by 1-2 degrees but the main difference will be noise and aesthetics. Corsair fans generally aren't that quiet though.

Even Better fans would be Delta or Scythe fans .However with delta you would need ear plugs xD

The fan isn't what's holding the Hyper212 back. It just lacks the heatpipes for higher TDPs no matter how much air you shove through it.

so, if i wanted to just go for cheap style, could i throw on any cheap led case fans without seeing a performance hit of more then 1-2 degrees?

No. The 212 Evo has a pretty decent fan. Replacing it with a crappy led fan could raise temps by quite a bit more than just 1-2 degrees.

oh okay. so its not that there is small difference between all fans, its just that the evo comes with a decent fan.

just weird to me looking at the costs of fans vs the whole cooler. thank you though!
