Does my case support ATX MOBOS?

Go to solution Solved by Flyguygamer,

7 slots is the Atx standard. Enjoy the atx board. Why are you upgrading?

Currently I have a uATX MOBO and plan to upgrade. Looking around ive found a bunch of ATX MOBOS for a decent price but not sure if my case is big enough to support it. It has 7 expansion slots on the case.(Not sure what case it is, all I know is that it's made by Revoltek)

Thanks for any advice.

You want us to tell you whether your case supports ATX without telling us what case it is because you do not know?

...Does not compute xD.

Check the case manual. It will say if it has support for ATX and otherwise if your case supports this motherboard standoff configuration (Physically as in you can put them in without modding) then your case supports ATX

I've currently got a FX-4100 and planning on upgrading to a FX-8350 and i've been told that my current MOBO(ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3) wont support it.

If you're just gaming, I wouldn't bother with that upgrade.

Okay, I would get a 990fx board then for oc and compatibility. Enjoy the upgrade.

That would be wise to do. The AM3+ mATX boards are quite iffy.

It would be ok if I had a lower end GPU to go with it but I have a R9 280X so i'm experiencing bottlenecks in some games(BF4,Crysis 3, Fallout with a bunch of graphical mods+enb) and I also want to be prepared for some of the newer games that are coming out.

Keep in mind, most (obviously this doesn't apply to BF4) games don't utilize more than four cores. It would make more sense to stick with your 4100 and just upgrade to a Broadwell i5/i7 when it's released.
