If you're planning to build at christmas then have the 4690k be a placeholder. Broadwell should be arriving sometimes around december which could be worth taking over Haswell-R assuming that unlocked CPU's are released immediately. I have a few other suggestions:

- For SSD I recommend Intel 730, Samsung 840 EVO or Crucial MX100, your choice. 256GB is recommended if you want more games on the SSD or have something like Battlefield 4 Premium/Titanfall/FFXIII size games. Intel is the best, then samsung then Crucial.

- Gigabyte Gaming G1 is by far the best card. You could also consider getting 2x GTX 970 over 1x GTX 980 as the dual GTX 970 will deliver A LOT more performance for only a little over the price of a GTX 980. However keep in mind the SLI incompatibilities with some games and potential microstutter (Not so much of an issue nowadays). Note though that the windforce logo is blue, not black or white but it might be modable.

- For motherboard try looking at the MSI Z97 Krait. That might suit your tastes a lot better than the ones you listed but again this is your choice.

- For case fans you can do better. Noctua NF-A14 FLX if you are fine with painting the fans and getting on the Noctua Hype-train. Otherwise Noiseblocker PK-3 are good fans or Bitfenix Spectre Pro (These are considered decent at best though).

- For CPU you should go with an I7 if you do not intend to upgrade the CPU for a substantial amount of time (4-5 years) because then I predict that games are able to use more than 4 threads more regularly. Otherwise go I5

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

I'll see when Christmas comes, Intel might release Broadwell with some sweet deals

changed SSD to 730 256gb

for gpu, i'll go with gigabyte
still pondering to get 2 970s over 980 or i'll wait for a possible 980ti

MSI Z97 Krait isn't even available on amazon
Dunno if scan.co.uk deliver here in Philippines

If im gonna get on noctua hype-train, what kind/brand of paint should i use to paint it?

I'm sure i'll not upgrade my CPU for the next 3-5 years, i guess i'll settle for i7
