Hey guys need some help!
I recently installed new CPU cooler (see pcpart link) and now when I try to use both my RAMs it won't boot. Either it will:
1: Try to boot but continues to restart itself over and over before anything is displayed on screen but after the red DRAM LED has flashed OR

2: Boots but the DRAM LED stays lit even after I've tried its own fixing program (pushing down the button)

When I try to boot it with either 1 of the 2 RAMs in the kit it will boot without any problems. Note that my system HAS previously been running with both RAMs installed with no problems although:
First time I booted the computer it had scenario number 2. I took out the RAM and put it in again and that fixed it. I've tried that again but now it wont work.
I have used the colour matching RAM slots, I've run MEM-test with stick 1 alone and stick 2 alone with no errors as a result.

System: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pJXdJx
BIOS version: latest Z97-A BIOS 1304
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

Everything is plugged in. I have no clue on what is wrong. I checked the motherboards QVL for the RAM compatability which lists Kingston HX318C10FWK2/16. As far as I can tell the only difference is the colour of the RAM itself...

Please help guys! Much love

I will call the stick you put in that worked stick 1, and the other one stick 2.

If you put stick 1 in alone and the computer works, but once stick two is put in it no longer works, try just using stick two, if it does not work then you have a bad stick of ram, otherwise it could be an issue with your mobo.

As above. Also try using the other colour matching slots if you haven't already. If you can get into the BIOS, check the RAM speeds and timings to make sure they match those advertised..

EDIT: Just to confirm, you're using SODIMM's as shown in the link or actual DIMMs?

EDIT2: Disregard EDIT 1, PCPP pic is incorrect

Sorry about the confusion. I've tried running stick 1 and stick 2 individually and it works with them

The BIOS CAN match it with name and specs but if I run a third party program in windows such as Speccy it CAN'T

Ok try running the ram (both sticks in dual-channel) at default DDR3 speeds (1333) to see if that fixes any issues. If it does, then you probably have bad ram

@Ligdendjypt

Are you trying to boot into windows with the two RAM sticks? If so, don't bother. Disconnect the Hdds as you want to eliminate as many variables as possible. If you can get into the BIOS with both sticks then you know RAM isn't the main issue. Have you clocked the RAM at all or used the XMP profiles? Have you clocked your CPU at all?

Update:
I've inspected the sticks and the slots and physically I cannot see any damage.
However only 1 out of 3 slots seem to work. By that I mean that I get scenario 1 with only 1 stick put into place. Doesn't matter if it is stick 1 or 2. I have yet to test the 4th slot but i have to remove the whole cooler to do that so I'll try and clear the CMOS first. Seems to me so far that some of the RAM slots are defect and not the RAM sticks :( :( :(

Everytime I colours code match the RAMs I get scenario 1.

I can run stick 1 and 2 silmutaniously if they are not colour code matched. That is stick 1 in a grey slot and stick 2 in a black slot. Will this hurt my performace??

You'll be running in Single-Channel mode so your RAM frequencies are basically halved. This will probably affect performance, though I'm not sure how much. Are either the motherboard, or the ram, under warranty?

The whole thing is under warranty. Just so much trouble going through all that shit and now one of the "clickers" to hold the RAM in place snapped off. So I bet ya they would say "you've damaged the whole thing yourself"
